Ramsey: Titans should pick me because I’m draft’s best player

quarterback Brock Osweiler knows Sunday’s tilt versus the could determine which team makes the playoffs and which team sits on a couch all January.

“This game Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis, this is the biggest game of our season,” Osweiler said, per the team’s official website. “I’m viewing our season right now as a one-game season and it’s one game that we must win. I think our entire football team understands that. There’s great urgency in this building right now and it reflected at today’s practice. No doubt about cheap NFL jerseys, we understand as a team how important Sunday is and you can expect our best effort come Sunday.”

Three teams — the Texans, Colts and — sit tied atop the division at 6-6. Houston currently holds the tiebreakers thanks to wins over both Tennessee and Indianapolis.

In the last meeting versus the Colts, Osweiler led the Texans on a fourth-quarter comeback after trailing 23-9 to win in overtime. In that Week 6 win, Houston used a no-huddle attack that helped Osweiler to a season-high 269 yards passing and two touchdowns.

A victory over Indianapolis could give the Texans the tiebreaker they need to eke into the playoffs in the worst division in the NFL. Houston owns the easiest schedule of the three teams over the final four games of the season.

The former Florida State defensive back doesn’t think he should need it.

“They should take me not because I’m a Nashville kid. They should take me because I’m the best player in this year’s draft,” Ramsey told NFL Media’s Albert Breer at the Seminoles’ pro day Tuesday.

Ramsey is from Smyrna, Tenn., about 25 minutes southeast of Nashville, and attended one of the area’s powerhouse high-school football programs in Brentwood Academy. The Titans could turn to Ramsey with the first overall pick instead of the presumptive No. 1 pick, Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil jersey. The Titans dispatched a large group of coaches, scouts and executives to Ole Miss’ pro day Monday to watch Tunsil, among other top prospects. NFL Media analysts and Bucky Brooks said following the workout that Tunsil should be the No. 1 pick by the Titans.

The Titans sent a big contingent to FSU’s pro day and have been in touch with the versatile former All-ACC star quite a bit throughout the draft process, according to of the Titans’ official website.

Two of seven NFL Media mock drafts have Ramsey as the first pick in the draft.

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey, general manager , offensive line coach , director of college scouting Blake Beddingfield, offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie and scout Jon Salge, whose responsibilities include Mississippi prospects, were present at the pro day Monday, according to Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. A total of 63 reps from all 32 NFL teams — a record crowd for an Ole Miss pro day, per the school — were on hand for the event.

If Grimm isn’t the coach who conducts Tunsil’s positional workout, you can bet he’ll at least be paying very close attention.

“(Tunsil) is strong, and you can see him block a lot of good football players,” Robinson said during an NFL Network interview Monday. “He’s a tough guy, a big man. He’s hard to get around, he can really run with wholesale jerseys. You can see him on some of those space plays when he pulls and runs out on the screen game, or he’s working to get a safety when a running back breaks a long run. It’s easy to evaluate how athletic he is.”

But for the Titans and every other NFL club, Tunsil was far from the only draw. Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell jersey could be the first player at his position drafted, and defensive tackle is one of the draft’s top talents, as well.

Tunsil was impressive in position drills at the NFL Scouting Combine last month, but that’s the only part of the event he participated in. As such, the pro day provides scouts with a much more complete picture of his athleticism. According to the school, Tunsil recorded 34 reps on the bench press (225 pounds). That mark ties this year’s combine leader in the event among offensive linemen (Arizona State’s Christian Westerman), and NFL Media analysts were beaming about Tunsil’s work in position drills Monday.

The Ole Miss left tackle meets on Monday with authentic NFL jerseys and the Chargers, who hold the No. 3 overall pick, followed by a visit with the Titans, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Tunsil is widely considered the draft’s No. 1 prospect.

The Titans, if they don’t trade the No. 1 overall pick, are expected to take Tunsil at the top of the draft and pair him with jersey as bookend tackles to protect the club’s 2015 first-round pick, quarterback Marcus Mariota. MMQB’s Peter King polled 10 NFL sources who have “control of their team’s draft boards and draft process,” and eight of them predicted the Titans would take Tunsil at No. 1.

If the majority is wrong, Tunsil could slide to the Chargers.

The Browns draft No. 2 overall and have a glaring need at the quarterback position. Like the Titans, the Chargers need help on the offensive line. While Mariota spent his rookie season with wholesale jerseys under a lot of pressure from pass rushers, Chargers rookie running back had a rough year behind a line that was beset by injuries.

The 2016 NFL Draft begins with Round 1 on April 28, followed by Rounds 2-3 (April 29) and 4-7 (April 30).

Tunsil had an impressive pro-day workout on March 28 and has been projected as a rookie by NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein.
